About the Project
Funded by Catholic Relief Services and the Howard G. Buffet Foundation, Raíces Ahuachapán is a program designed to help farmers in El Salvador transition away from unsustainable farming practices, while allowing them to grow enough food to feed their families and earn a decent living.
With the need to rebuild their identity from the ground up, they wanted to show the connection between all the various organizations and people needed to create a real change.
They wanted to avoid the typical NGO look and appeal to the next generation of land stewards. After visiting El Salvador and witnessing their vibrancy of life firsthand, it inspiration led us to use bright colors and simple shapes to serve as metaphors for the various communities and contributors. These objects overlap and blend, creating new colors and shapes that reflect the landscape of El Salvador.
